Alternative Winter Break
Volunteered for one week with underserved minorities and refugee youth at International Community School and Refugee Family Services in Atlanta, Georgia. At ICS, I served as a teaching assistant in a physical activity classroom.
- Following the trip, organized a campus wide school supply and clothing drive for immigrants and refugees at the International Community School
- Collected over 3,000 pairs of socks, 2,000 crayons, markers and colored pencils as well as over 300 dollars which assisted with shipping costs
- Recognized by President Ross at the Central Michigan University Board of Trustees meeting on April 15th, 2010 for exemplary service and engagement.
